{"id":41762,"date":"2023-02-26T18:35:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-26T12:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nepallivetoday.com\/?p=41762"},"modified":"2023-02-26T19:02:18","modified_gmt":"2023-02-26T13:17:18","slug":"high-court-pokhara-orders-release-of-actor-paul-shah-from-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nepallivetoday.com\/2023\/02\/26\/high-court-pokhara-orders-release-of-actor-paul-shah-from-jail\/","title":{"rendered":"High Court Pokhara orders release of actor Paul Shah from jail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Kathmandu:<\/strong> The Pokhara High Court on Sunday acquitted actor Purna Bikram Shah, popularly known as Paul Shah, who was in Tanahun jail on the charge of molesting a minor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A joint bench of judges Dilliraj Acharya and Shreedhara Kumari Pudasaini cleared Shah of the charge, citing lack of evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, Tanahun and Nawalpur district courts had cleared rape charges against Shah. But the Nawalpur District Court sentenced the actor to two years and six months in jail and slapped a fine of Rs25,000 on the charge of molesting a minor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 17-year-old singer had filed a complaint in February, 2022, accusing Shah of raping her in Tanahun and Nawalparasi (East) districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the decision, Shah will be released from Tanahun jail on Monday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu: The Pokhara High Court on Sunday acquitted actor Purna Bikram Shah, popularly known as Paul Shah, who was in Tanahun jail on the charge of molesting a minor.
